This is our modern day baby book! It is our prayer that years from now, Zeke and Adalynn will look back at the details of this blog and understand just how much we looked forward to meeting them and love them!

He is faithful!

"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord“He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.” ~ Psalm 91:1-2

"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me." ~ John 15:4

The past month has been one of abiding in God, even when I don't understand.  Isn't that what He longs for us to do?  How it must bring Him such pleasure to see His children trust Him in spite of what we see!

Recently, we have seen attacks from the enemy, but praise God, we know the enemy will not win.  We are standing firm on God's Word and His promises.  Gregg and I are learning to find our joy in the Lord even when the circumstances of this world try to distract us and steal our joy.

Gregg has had to be away a lot this month for work and the kids have had two upper respiratory type colds, not to mention our toddler is good at toddling (and falling).  She bumped her little forehead a few days ago, then this morning, she woke up with a swollen eye.  We think something bit her because she didn't go to bed with any issues.

God is a genius (as we know).  He set it up this morning so that I could do nothing but abide in Him!  I saw Adalynn's eye when I got her up 15 minutes before we were supposed to go to church.  I fed her breakfast and between each spoonful, I read a verse from Psalm 91.

Now, I have to be honest here.  My first instinct was to call Gregg, but I knew he was on a plane, then I called my mom, but she was in church.  Then, I debated in my head whether I should take Adalynn to the doctor.  THEN, I realized what I was doing.  I was not seeking God FIRST.  I began praying over her.  I took a picture and sent it to my friend, Sheeba, a mighty prayer warrior and nurse.  God didn't even let Sheeba see the text.  My mom responded asking if it was pink eye or a bite.  God calmed me and gave me peace to abide in Him.

At that point, I knew it didn't matter.  I needed to seek God's Word and His face.  After more prayer, I loaded the kids in the car (Adalynn still in pajamas) and we went to church.  We found Sheeba and she prayed over Adalynn.  Below are the before and after photos:

Before

After prayer

WOW!!  Our great God continues to amaze me.  He also worked a CLEAR miracle in getting Gregg home.  Gregg was told he'd have to work last night and possibly be on standby today.  He had already had his trip extended and we just wanted him home.  Last night we prayed that Gregg would not have to work, would get some sleep, and would be able to make his flight at 7am.  Well, they let him go last night (I think around 10:30pm), he went back to the hotel to sleep, and he made his flight.  He is home now...thank you Jesus!!!

This is just a glimpse of all God has been doing.  He has been changing Gregg's and my heart..."Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.  The old has passed away; behold, the new has come" (2 Corinthians 5:17).  I feel like I could write a book on all God is doing (not today, though!).

So, this is not a typical update post about what the kids are doing, but I had to share.  I just couldn't hold it in!

Lastly, I was inspired by my friend, Christy, to choose specific verses to pray over my family.  I'd love to share them with you all in case you feel inclined to pray.

Zeke and Adalynn:
The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,And with my song I will praise Him.”
(Psalm 28:7)

Gregg:
“No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.
(Romans 4:20-21)

Megan:"You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts you.  Trust the LORD forever, for the Lord God is everlasting strength."(Isaiah 26:3-4)

Ready for fall...

Zeke's 1st day of Pre-K was on September 1, 2014.  We are doing the "Heart of Dakota" curriculum, which has been wonderful.  He and I thoroughly enjoy our school time.  He has also started swimming all the way across the pool by himself, in addition to taking gymnastics lessons once/week!

With his buddy, Christian, at Sterling's birthday party

Zeke and Sterling

As you will see above, he shared a little about himself with me for his sign:

Favorite color: red
He wants to be a mailman (he's already changed it to fireman!)
He is: 4 years old (really 4 3/4!)
Favorite food: granola with blueberries
Weight: 43.5 pounds
Height: 43.5 inches
Class of 2028
Favorite activities: puzzles, trains, and swimming
Favorite song: theme song from VBS (vacation Bible school)

He lost his first tooth this same day, which was very exciting for him!  He continues to bless us with his joy and outgoing personality.  We truly thank God for the gift of Zeke!

Adalynn Rose Nomachee

Adalynn is 18 months old now!  She is talking a lot, and we understand about 5% of what she says...ha!  She continues to be our shy one, but is full of personality at home.  She recently has become a climber, so I have to stay on my toes.  She adores her daddy and brother (and Wynna!).  She's running around now and is much more steady on her feet, although, she is still a toddler.  Bath time, singing, and going outside are probably her favorite things to do.  I have just started being able to pull her hair back in little pig tales, which is fun.  She won't keep a bow in, though, but we are working on it!  Her little laugh brings us joy and she is a blessing to our family.

Height: 32 inches (56%)
Weight: 23 pounds, 4 ounces (59%)

Praising God together (one of my favorite pictures of them!)

August 2014

Zeke and I had a rare date with just the two of us for Nikita's surprise 16th birthday party.  He was the youngest guest, I believe, but he had a blast, as always!

Below you'll see some candid photos of us heading to get the mail and playing in the backyard.  The kids just enjoy being together, which is such a gift!

We got to see Wynna for a quick visit this month...

Trying to capture her new bracelet.  You'll see my matching one below!

I almost missed posting about August at our home.  I can't believe how quickly it went by.  Adalynn is now 18 months old, Zeke lost his first tooth and started homeschool (on the same day).  I'll write about those events next time!
