This is our modern day baby book! It is our prayer that years from now, Zeke and Adalynn will look back at the details of this blog and understand just how much we looked forward to meeting them and love them!

October Adventures

This is the month Gregg had been planning his grand elk hunt in Colorado with his friend, Dave.  We knew he'd be gone about 2 weeks, so the kids and I headed to Wynna and Papa's house for 8 days!  It was wonderful to have so much quality time together.  I'm sure my mom and dad are enjoying the quiet and not being awakened by little running feet at 8am, though!

We got to see Jared, Sophia, and Harper, but Kariss was sick, so we didn't get to see her or Jami, unfortunately.

It worked out that I was able to see my friend, Dena, and her brand new baby boy, Rhett.  I also got to see my dear friend, Christy, for a short visit and at Perimeter Church on Sunday.  Zeke went to the dentist (our favorite pediatric dentist in Suwanee), we ate at some of our favorite places, and did some shopping too!  It's amazing how everything is at your fingertips up there.  How quickly I have forgotten!  Our year anniversary of being in Americus was on October 9th.  We continue to remain amazed and so thankful that God brought us to this place.

Eating at Chipotle!

My friend, Caroline, took photos of the kids (and a few with Wynna and me too) in her wooded backyard.  Here is one (unedited) picture she sent to tide me over until she could edit them.  I can't wait to see them all!

Gregg and his friend, Dave, each got an elk...that's a lot of meat!  Gregg got to stop by and visit with his brother, Jimmy, Maria, and the kids.  They are currently in seminary in Colorado.  Krissy sent me some pictures from their visit.  Gregg and Dave are headed home today (Sunday, October 19th).  The kids and I can't wait to see him tonight.  I am guessing now that he'll tell me how much they have changed and grown!

Zeke has been enjoying participating in his homeschool group, A.R.C.H.E. (Americus Regional Christian Homeschool Educators).  We meet on Fridays for 3 hours.  They have lessons taught by other moms and grandmothers and time to play with children their age.  It is just wonderful!

Lastly, I found a few pictures from last month that I didn't post.  Gregg had to go out of town for work for 2 weeks, so my mom came to stay for a few days, which was really nice.  You'll see her below with Zeke for his "special date with Wynna" that he earned.

I think we are all updated now.  I will leave you with a picture of the kids I took this week.  It shows how much Adalynn adores her big brother!  Praising God for that!

Update: I just received some photos from the couple who runs the Harvest of Hope food pantry.  The kids and I went to donate and see the facility on Halloween.  I felt led to begin a tradition of serving on Halloween.  Zeke was most interested in the shopping cart they had to carry food back and forth...ha!  Hopefully he will come to understand the importance of what they do.  Adalynn was along for the ride!
