This is our modern day baby book! It is our prayer that years from now, Zeke and Adalynn will look back at the details of this blog and understand just how much we looked forward to meeting them and love them!

OCTOBER ~ hurricane, photo time, and Thomas the Train!

October (aka summer in Americus)

Well, we continued to see temperatures in the 90's here in Americus throughout October.  We swam in our pool and Americus even experienced its first category 2 hurricane!  After much prayer and seeking God, the children and I left the day the storm came through and drove up to stay with my parents in Johns Creek.  Gregg stayed to work.  We were thankful for the impromptu visit with Wynna and Granddaddy (and to have power!).  We lost power at our house for several days.  Gregg and our friends were all safe, praise God!

Back home with all of the coolers that saved us from losing all of our perishable food!

Ready for church

Lily Faith ~ Piano

Nikita was so generous to take Adalynn's photos around age 2 at my maternal grandmother's piano.  We have photos of my mom and myself at this piano.  We decided to ask Nikita to take Lily Faith's photos too.  They turned out so well.  She was a perfect little model and followed Nikita's instructions so well!  I'm thankful to have these moments captured.

 October around Americus

We certainly had a full month.  We learned that Adalynn was struggling to see out of her left eye, so we began the process of patching her eye to strengthen it.  She has done so well with the daily patching and we will begin eye therapy in Roswell when we are up at Christmas time.  We truly trust in God's healing power and can't wait to watch her eyesight improve and be restored!

Adalynn also got to go on her first deer hunt with Daddy.  We had family pictures the same day, so she made a quick change from camo into a dress and hair bow!  I'll do a separate post of those photos to keep this post from being too long!

Getting ready to go hunt with Daddy at 6am!

After the hunt...they didn't get anything, but she had a blast!

Dress up day at dance (chef Adalynn)!

Lily Faith chose these matching dresses that day (hers was a hand me down and I found Adalynn's used!)

Treats on the Trails

Our youth pastors, Jen and Matt, host "Treats on the Trails" each year at their home.  They have property with trails where they set up a bonfire and take the kids on a hayride.  It was a beautiful evening and we all had fun visiting and touring their property.

Adalynn also picked a hot wheel from the treasure box...she and Ms. Jessica were the first to find it!

Thomas the Train

The final weekend in October was long awaited for Adalynn.  Gregg took her and Zeke to ride Thomas the Train in Cordele, GA.  This meant a little Mommy/Daughter date for Lily Faith and me.  I thank God for these opportunities to spend special time with our children and for a husband who loves our children so well!

She is reading now and is often found with a book!

They got to ride in the dining car this year!
