This is our modern day baby book! It is our prayer that years from now, Zeke and Adalynn will look back at the details of this blog and understand just how much we looked forward to meeting them and love them!

Our Home

We are currently on our house hunting trip in Americus, Georgia, but I wanted to post the pictures from our Acworth home.  It is such a special place to us because both of our children were born there (well, at Kennestone Hospital, then came home there!).

We feel blessed to be under contract on it, which is bittersweet for me.  Here are some photos to remember our sweet home...

Now we are praying for the home God has chosen for us in Americus.  We have found two homes we love, and are waiting to hear back from the sellers to see if we can agree on a fair price.  We have been praying through Proverbs 3:5-6.  This trip has had many ups and downs, but we are thankful to know WHO is leading us each step of the way!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make straight your paths.
(Proverbs 3:5-6)

Transitions

I wanted to write a quick update to let you all know what our status is on the move.

We are incredibly thankful to be staying with my parents right now.  Our house is not on the market yet due to some very unwelcome rats in our garage, but they have been "taken care of," and the house should go on the market next Wednesday.

Gregg has been holding down the fort at our house and coming over to be with us as much as possible.  Zeke has, of course, loved having Wynna 24/7, but I know she is exhausted.  She gets to go to the beach with her friends next week, which will be wonderful for her!

Gregg and I were just talking about what we think God is doing through all of this.  WE wanted to get the house on the market 2 weeks ago, yet our ways are NOT God's ways!

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.
(Isaiah 55:8)

We trust that He has plans to give us a future and a hope.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD,
plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
(Jeremiah 29:11)

Although, we may not ever know why we are dealing with these seemingly constant troubles in getting our house on the market, we have to continue to look at the bigger picture and trust God's plan.

We are blessed to have a place to stay, family to offer help and support, and resources to take care of the problems before we put the house on the market.  Thank you all for your continued prayers as we try to determine where God has us for the next several years of our lives.

Blessings to you all!

Hilton Head 2013

We were blessed to spend the week as a family in a beautiful home in Hilton Head, SC (12 Bald Eagle West in Sea Pines) ~ www.destinationvacationhhi.com/12_bald_eagle_west.htm

This is the first time Zeke has been to the beach where he could really play.  It's also the first time the older cousins were able to go off and play somewhat alone.  There was a great basement in this home with a ping pong table and open space to run and play.  The house also had a pool and was a few minutes walking distance from the beach.

It was Adalynn's first time at the beach too, although she mostly ate and slept!

Dinner Out

My dad was generous to take the different couples out to dinner the first couple of nights to avoid trying to take the kids out.  The rest of us took turns on "kid duty."  Gregg, my dad, and I went to Charlie's L'etoille Vert ("Green Star" in French).  It was delicious and we actually ran into some old friends from Mt. Pisgah UMC, the Hollingsheads.  We went to this restaurant when I was pregnant with Zeke in 2009!

Hanging Out

We spent a lot of time hanging out at the house.  The kids played games, watched DVDs, and generally just had a good time.

More Beach Time

Zeke loved playing on the sand with his tools, but was not as fond of the ocean.  He didn't want the water to cover his feet because he didn't like not being able to see through it!  You'll see below how far we were from the water and he was perfectly happy with that!

Birthday Ice Cream

We celebrated Jared (July 25th) and Gregg's (July 26th) birthdays while we were there.  We went for Gelato and Zeke had his very first ice cream (gelato).  We also got some cute pictures of the kids in their matching outfits.

Sleeping Babies

Zeke has not been taking naps, but managed to fall asleep several times (once on the floor while playing in his room during rest time!).  He was worn out!  Of course, Adalynn slept a lot too!

Happy Birthday, Gregg!

Bye-Bye, Hilton Head!

Adalynn let us know that she DOES NOT like long car trips.  She cried much of the trip.  This picture was taken in our driveway when we got home where she finally decided to go to sleep!

It was such a sweet time spent with family.  The first day home when I woke up, I missed seeing Kariss and Sophia first thing.  What a blessing to spend so much quality time with those we love!
