This is our modern day baby book! It is our prayer that years from now, Zeke and Adalynn will look back at the details of this blog and understand just how much we looked forward to meeting them and love them!

Adalynn is FIVE and other February fun!

February, a short month already, passed quickly as usual!  We were busy with school and celebrated Adalynn's birthday with a quick visit from Wynna!  We thank God for each day and all that He continues to teach us.

Unseasonably warm

The weather has been very warm, so we have enjoyed many beautiful days outside.

We celebrated Valentine's Day at CC by exchanging Valentine's with their class.  We also had fun making heart shaped bread at home.  Aunt Jami made them precious personalized shirts too!

 Tim Hawkins in Americus

Christian comedian, Tim Hawkins came to do a performance in Americus at Central Baptist Church.  Gregg, Zeke, and I went and we laughed for two hours straight. It was such a blast!  Wynna was here that weekend for Adalynn's birthday, so the girls got to have some quality time with her!

Ready for the show

Zeke got to meet Bob Smiley (a friend of Tim's) and have him sign a devotional we bought

Adalynn turns FIVE

We had so much fun celebrating Adalynn's birthday this year.  Wynna was here and we took her to lunch at The Bistro with Sheeba and Nikita.  Daddy was out of town, but we celebrated with him when he got home.  Adalynn is maturing and continues to be such a bundle of joy and enthusiasm.  We can't wait to see what God has in store for her!

January 2018

Happy New Year!

We praise God for the start of a new year and His faithfulness.  His mercies are new every morning.  There is something fresh about the beginning of a new year.  God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, yes, but it is nice to reflect on what He as done and look forward to what He will do.

Reading fun

Wow, January has flown by, just like December!  January, for us, was focused much on reading.  We participated in the Read Aloud Revival challenge.  Zeke and Adalynn read aloud for 10 minutes/day for 25 out of the 31 days.  They got to choose a reward at the end.  They chose to rent Paddington, so we did, and we loved it!  Now, we can't wait for Paddington 2 to come out at Redbox.

We started back to our Classical Conversations group and slowly got back into our school routine as well!

His reading positions are always creative

 SNOW!

It snowed for the first time since we have lived in Americus.  The kids were SO excited.  They woke me up and wanted to go play outside at 7am!  It didn't last long, but it was beautiful and a treat for the kids, for sure!

 Happy 8th Birthday, Zeke!

Zeke turned 8 on January 19, 2018.  My mom came down to celebrate with us.  He asked for a sandwich on Wynna's homemade bread and "ants on a log" (celery with peanut butter and raisins) for dinner the evening of his birthday.  Zeke wanted to go bowling instead of having a party.  On Saturday, my mom and I took him and his buddy, Zachary, with Zach's mom, Jen, to Leesburg to go bowling.  We also had dinner afterward at Chick-fil-a.  Daddy stayed home with the girls.  It was a weekend full of fun and celebration!
